Introduction To DC UPS

A DC UPS (Distributed Uninterruptible Power Supply) is an uninterruptible power supply system composed of an AC power distribution unit, a rectifier module, a battery bank, a DC power distribution unit, a battery management unit, and a monitoring module. It converts 220V AC power to 280V DC power through the rectifier module, simultaneously charging the battery and automatically switching to battery power in the event of an AC power outage to ensure continuous equipment operation.

 

The system employs high-frequency PWM technology, featuring a wide input voltage range (85V~275V) and input delay soft-start function. It has a built-in surge protection unit capable of absorbing 6000V P-P·10US-700US pulse voltages. This power supply utilizes democratic current sharing technology and a 2+1/3+1 hot backup system, supports AC/DC dual-path power supply modes, and features overvoltage, overcurrent, short-circuit, and overheat protection functions, as well as an automatic temperature-controlled fan. Intelligent DC UPS typically includes remote monitoring and management, battery status monitoring, fault diagnosis, and supports various energy storage units such as lead-acid batteries, lithium batteries, lithium iron phosphate batteries, and supercapacitors. Compared to AC UPS, DC UPS omits the inverter stage, achieving a single AC-DC conversion, resulting in differences in efficiency, size, and cost. Its output voltage includes 12V, 24V, and 48V specifications, and it is commonly used in communications, security monitoring, industrial control, and computer fields. With technological advancements, lithium-ion batteries have gradually become the mainstream energy storage unit in UPS systems due to their advantages, and relevant operation and maintenance standards have been published.
