Core working principle and composition of DC UPS

The DC uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is designed with "simplified energy conversion and improved power supply stability" as its core principles. Its core components include a rectifier module, an energy storage battery pack, an intelligent control system, and a DC power distribution unit. These modules work together to ensure power supply throughout the entire process, with a clear and efficient operating logic.

Under normal mains power conditions, the rectifier module converts the input AC power into stable DC power. This directly powers the DC load and simultaneously charges the energy storage battery pack with constant voltage and current, ensuring the battery is always fully charged and ready for use. During this process, the rectifier module also performs voltage regulation and filtering, removing surges, noise, and other power pollution from the mains power supply. The output ripple coefficient is controlled to within 0.5%, ensuring power supply purity.

When the mains power is interrupted or abnormal, the intelligent control system detects the signal within milliseconds and immediately switches to battery power mode. The energy storage battery pack releases DC power directly to the load via the DC bus, eliminating the need for AC-DC secondary conversion. The switching time can be as low as 5ms, achieving seamless power supply connection to the load. If equipped with a diesel generator, the system can automatically start the generator and switch to a mains-generator power supply mode after the generator's power supply stabilizes, forming a closed-loop emergency power supply system.

Among the core components, the intelligent control system is equipped with a high-speed DSP chip and a battery management system (BMS), which monitors over 200 core parameters in real time, including input and output voltage, current, battery internal resistance, and module temperature. It features multiple protection mechanisms such as overcurrent, overvoltage, short circuit, and overtemperature protection, cutting off faulty circuits in milliseconds to prevent fault propagation. The DC power distribution unit achieves balanced load distribution and precise fault location, facilitating operation and maintenance.
